Hatchet Summary

After reading the next chapter of the book “Hatchet,” I am amazed at how Brian was able to survive. First, Brian had survived a plane crash. He had to deal with the pilot of the bushplane having a heart attack then appearing to die while the plane was still in the air. When this happened he was forced to fly the plane. Due to the pilots issues the plane flew off course. Now Brian had to land the plane without hurting himself or the plane to severely. Second, he was forced to sleep in very cold weather. After the plane crash landed in a lake in the woods he needed to get out and save himself before the plane sank into the lake. Brian had to pull himself up the shore and sleep outside in the forest.
Next, he had to deal with mosquitoes biting him. The next morning Brian woke up and was attack by a swarm of mosquitoes and insects. He was bitten so much that he did not have enough clothing to cover his body from the attack. Another thing that happened was Brian needed to deal with not having food. He spent the whole part of the chapters that I read hungry and looking for food. Brain also spent time trying to get shelter. He had a small pocket knife that he used to cut brush and small trees to protect him from the cold.
